Running a company while actively volunteering with my local club can be a challenge—but it’s also incredibly rewarding. At the start of February, Gowna GAA raised an incredible €200,000 through our Quid Game fundraiser, powered by ClubSpot Events. As both a club member and the founder of ClubSpot, I was heavily involved in the event’s organisation, and it reinforced exactly why I started this platform—to help clubs like mine raise funds more efficiently and with less hassle.
Wearing Two Hats
Balancing ClubSpot’s operations with volunteering for a major fundraiser required careful time management, but having the right tools made all the difference. ClubSpot Events streamlined ticket sales, managed contestant sign-ups, and handled the online donations, reducing the usual administrative headache and allowing our committee to focus on creating an unforgettable experience.
What made this event special was not just the incredible amount raised, but the sense of community and teamwork that made it happen. Volunteers, contestants, sponsors, and the entire local community came together to make this fundraiser our biggest success yet.

Community and Technology Working Together
Of course, no fundraiser succeeds without the dedication of a strong committee and the support of the local community. A massive thank you to everyone involved, from the hardworking organizers to the generous sponsors and contestants who took part. A special mention to my colleague Tara Louise McGahan, who ensured everything ran smoothly on the ClubSpot Events side, helping to make the night an overwhelming success.
Beyond the incredible community effort, the ClubSpot Events platform played a crucial role in making the fundraiser as efficient and stress-free as possible. By automating ticket sales, managing online donations, and simplifying sponsorship collection, the platform saved countless hours of administrative work for the committee. This allowed volunteers to focus on executing the event rather than getting bogged down in paperwork. Having a centralised system to track everything in real time also gave us confidence that nothing was falling through the cracks. In the end, the combination of dedicated people and smart technology was the key to our success.
